Cartoon Network Responds To #RIPCartoonNetwork Trends On Social Media, Says 'We're Not Dead, Not Going Anywhere.'

Lately, a lot of discussions, trends & reports have been circulating on the internet about ‘shutting down Cartoon Network’. The famous American cable TV channel that broadcasted some of the best shows for the 90s & 20's kids in India, including Pokemon, Tom & Jerry, Ben 10, Dexter's Laboratory, Courage the Cowardly Dog, The Powerpuff Girls & Dragon Ball Z, etc., is being told to be shutting down on social media.

Basically, in a latest memorandum passed on by Warner Bros, the company fired about 82 employees for 125 positions operating in various domains, comprising scripted, unscripted, and animation departments. These reports were being disseminated after the company declared to merge Cartoon Network Studio and Warner Bros. This means the channel will be broadcasted under the brand name of Warner Bros only. However, the information or announcements of the channel getting shutting down are not approved by any accredited source yet.

If you are someone who belongs to the 90s & 20s era, then you may certainly know the importance of Cartoon Network. Because of a memo and some reports that were being misapprehended by some, a lot of chaos and perplexity occurred that made people believe that the channel is going down.

Recently, on social media, an "RIP Cartoon Network" trend was going viral. Soon after these reports were disseminated, followed by #RIPCartoonNetwork, which eventually began trending on different social media platforms. To prevent misinformation from spreading further, Cartoon Network immediately revealed through their social media handles that. "Y'all, we're not dead; we're just turning 30. To our fans: We're not going anywhere. We have been and will always be your home for beloved, innovative cartoons. More to come soon'' followed by some hashtags Cartoon Network tweeted.

Let’s find out what is actually going on. Cartoon Network, the popular American TV channel, is not getting halted. What is actually the matter is that the animation studio Cartoon Network Studios, which is currently held by Warner Bros. Television Studios, is being combined with Warner Bros. Animation. The studio is the production arm of Cartoon Network and mainly does animated programming for the channel. It was reported on October 11, 2022, that Cartoon Network Studios will stay as it is. However, its production and development crew will incorporate with Warner Bros.’ studio. All this took place after a lot of employees were fired from both studios.

This spurred plenty of speculation and misinformation online, and gossip began disseminating, such as either Cartoon Network Studios or Cartoon Network shutting down. Cartoon Brew wrote that the studio is terminated, but Cartoon Network tweeted it is not true.
